A rubescent bronze for the new year, Cider is a metallic matte liquid lipstick from Spectrum Cosmetic. Not all their products are vegan as per their universal ingredient list, but I was told that Cider DOES NOT contain carmine.

Their formula goes on smooth with good consistency. Only one layer is needed. It doesn't feel too dry, but prior moisturizing may be desirable.

The picture above, in the middle, was taken in daylight.

The base shade is actually very close to my natural lip tone, so it's sort of like a rosier nude tone for my lips. The glimmering rose gold patina is much more noticeable in person, which is shown better in the swatches below (daylight, then with flash).

It really is not nearly as pretty here as it is in person. It's like a smouldering flame atop the dusty mauve silhouette of mountains.

I love this shade. I could bathe in it.

I. Cider

"A metallic thread in her rose sweater. These faint sparks cast a shimmer on her like a spill of light. She smiled, the pearl-tinted lips wet with cider... As she spoke she changed in some provocative way, seemed suddenly drenched in eroticism as a diver rising out of a pool gleams like chrome with a sheet of unbroken water for a fractional moment."
